The Ghosts of Burnau kaserne

P1000463

I had the opportunity to go and explore this place in November 2014, it was one of two barracks in the Town.
that was part of the German army, during WW2 in the small town of Bernau, it had two Army barracks that mainly supplied the uniforms for the Wehrmacht and for Nazi Germany’s military elite forces.

This place was also the main administration buildings for the two sites, after the Second World War the Russians took over the barracks, and used it for a storage depot or such like, there is not much information about this place but as you can see the Russians put their mark on the place, with their big red star.

Getting into the barracks was very easy, and most of the trashed buildings easy to enter.

The big building with the star was a bit harder, but I found a window and climbed through,
I have been in loads of empty buildings in my time, and they have not bothered me, but there was something about this place that gave me the creeps.

As I walked around the building, there seemed to be a strange noise like something tapping on a pipe, thinking it’s the wind or such like, I carried on looking around the rooms, entering the caller areas which was flooded, the clanking sound started again and sounded quite close to where I was.

Upon hearing this again, it started to give me the creeps, so started heading back to the room with the open window, shit it sounded like it was following me, just had to get the hell out of the place, finding the room with the open window after going into wrong rooms was a nightmare, climbing out of the window never felt so good.

Still don’t know what was making the noise, but I will not be going back in there again.
